Meet the Heart Behind Montessori
Caz Montessori was founded by Leonila “Lily” Diaz, a bilingual educator and behavioral specialist with over 15 years of experience in social services, early childhood education, paraprofessional in several school districts in CA and special needs support.
Lily studied BS Behavioral Science double major in Psychology at SJSU in San Jose CA and BA Liberal Studies with K-12 teaching concentration from Chapman University/ Brandman now known as U-Mass Global in Irvine CA.
Her deep passion for the Montessori philosophy, dedication to child-centered learning, and unwavering commitment to supporting families led her to create a nurturing space where children can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Most importantly she was inspired by her 5 year old daughter to create a safe, welcoming space where all children are welcome.
In 2022, Lily and her family relocated from California to Cazenovia and quickly fell in love with the charm and warmth of the village. As a mother of three—ages 14, 5, and 2.5—she brings not only professional expertise but also a personal understanding of the joys and challenges of parenting.
When she's not at Caz Montessori, you can often find Lily spending quality time with her children visiting local farms, exploring nearby museums, or enjoying the animals at the zoo.
